Top 7 Spring Break Destinations

No matter your age, spring break is an awesome opportunity to escape the daily grind. Check out StorQuest’s top seven spring break destinations that are your answer to living well.

Virginia Beach, Virginia

Virginia Beach has something for everyone – from amusement parks, activities on and off the beach, and world-class golfing to hometown breweries, epic culinary treats, and surprisingly awesome Atlantic coast sunrises. One thing is for sure, you’ll have every opportunity to mix it up and custom craft your ideal spring break so that when you do return to the daily grind you’ll bring that Virginia optimism into your everyday.

Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs comes alive every spring with throngs of people seeking sunshine, celebration, and swimming pools. While Palm Springs has a storied spring break past, today’s scene is mellower but still offers hip pool parties, music festivals like Coachella and Stagecoach, and downtown revelry. But the opportunity to choose wild and adventurous over relaxed and carefree, and vice versa, remains. Now you can golf, hike, and climb before dancing into the morning to a DJ spinning vinyl. Bottom line: Palm Springs still promises great views, warm sunshine, fun times, and laid-back days.

Mammoth Mountain, Mammoth Lakes, California

Mammoth Mountain routinely breaks records for snow, which means long after the powder crowds have disappeared, the slopes are still rippable. Add in the California sunshine and spring days are magical. Come April and May, Mammoth is still in full swing with the added fun of on-mountain activities like pond skimming, mountain biking, and T-shirt weather. Off the mountain, hiking trails are snow-free and the fishing season is open. You’ll be able to shred the slopes in the morning and swing by Stellar Brew for a pick-me-up before heading to Crowley Lake to cast a line. So, load up your gear from your local StorQuest and you’ll be living big in Mammoth Lakes in no time.

Key West, Florida

Key West is the party destination on our list. Here, the nightlife is the focus and the beach is your daytime spot to recharge. Experience the Island’s rich culture, take in original music performed by amazing bands and solo artists, and dance through the night. The island vibe is electric and luckily the days are long with plenty of sand and chill activities to make sure you reset for another evening out.

Destin, Florida

If white sand beaches and emerald-colored ocean waters are your thing, Destin is your place. While Destin has a reputation as a popular spring break spot, you can still find the right mix of relaxation and social celebration. By day, fish, rent a jet ski, and snorkel and by night, put on your sandals and hit the scene – stroll Harbor Walk Village for quintessential wild spring break action or watch live music at The Village Door and Nighttown. Destin offers the best of both worlds.

Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix is on our list for a number of reasons – the weather is always stellar, it’s the perfect mix of city and nature, and there’s lots to do once you’re there. Hike the Superstition Mountains, take in a baseball game and cheer for one of the 15 MLB teams that call the Phoenix area home in spring, or just soak in the sun at the hotel’s pool. Phoenix checks all the boxes for an epic spring break getaway.

New Orleans, Louisiana

While New Orleans always has something going on, spring break in NOLA is even more awesome. The weather is perfect – shorts and sandals are the norm – and festivals are lined up to make picking just one a challenge. There’s the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, which celebrates the versatility of your favorite bright red, juicy fruit – think daiquiris, cheesecake, and beer. (Yes, beer!) Or check out the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which offers food, art, and music. Of course, wild adventures still happen in the French Quarter – everything from Zydeco, Latin, and Cajun music and entertainment – and in the swamp – make sure to take a tour and discover the beauty of Louisiana in spring.
