Clearwater Beach

Hillsborough River State Park
Even though Hillsborough River State Park is close to downtown Tampa, the natural vibe makes it feel miles away. Here, you can spend the night at a campsite, hike more than 7 miles of trail, kayak Class II river rapids, swim in the park’s pool, or take in the history of the region at the visitor center. The added bonus of spending your downtime here? You’ll feel like summer never ended.
February is for Festivals
In Tampa, the month of February is synonymous with impressive outdoor gatherings. But schedule wisely. There’s lots to do. Attend the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival; check out the Tampa Bay Chocolate Festival; or stroll the Tampa Riverwalk Sweet n’ Spicy Festival. Plus, the Florida State Fair has rolled out the awesome in Tampa every February since 1904.
Major League Baseball
Tampa’s George M. Steinbrenner Field is the spring training facility for Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees. They’ve been training in Tampa for the last 25 seasons and you can snag your ticket to watch them starting in late February.
