Lost Dutchman State Park- Mesa, Arizona

Located on the outskirts of Mesa, the Lost Dutchman State Park is at the foot of the Superstition Mountains. Its numerous trails traverse some of Arizona's most beautiful Sonoran Desert landscape, ideal for trekking. Favorite hikes include Treasure Loop and Prospector's View (moderate trails) and the Siphon Draw Trail (technical).

Summer temps here can exceed 100°F, but winter temperatures are much milder, with daytime highs anywhere from 60°F to 80°F depending on what month you plan to visit. Amenities: RV sites have 20 - 30 - 50 amp service. Tiled showers and restrooms. Laundry room. Free WI FI.

 

Cave Springs Campground- Sedona, Arizona

Cave Springs Campgrounds is an idyllic spot with sycamores, oaks, and pines, and its proximity to some of the most photographed red rock cliffs, Cathedral Rock, and Bell Rock. To beat the sweltering heat, plan your RV trip between September and December when average daytime temps range from 91°F to 60°F.

Driving through Red Rock Country is bound to leave you amazed and in awe. Located in the Coconino Forest, Cave Springs is one of Arizona's most popular campgrounds, so reserve early. Amenities: Free WI-FI. Showers and restrooms. Free cable. Electrical hookups for 20 - 30 - 50 amp service.

 

Catalina State Park - Tucson, Arizona

Nowhere else on Earth can you find the stunning combination of desert, mountains, and sky as you do in Arizona. At the base of the Catalina Mountains, this RV campground offers 120 RV campsites with access to equestrian, birding, hiking, and biking trails. More than that, each site has simply breathtaking views. In Tucson, the summers are sweltering, and the winters are cold and dry. October and November can see daytime highs of 74°F to 85°F.

Plan to stay long enough to explore some of the 5,500 acres of canyons, desert, and saguaros. Amenities: Paved parking slips. Water and electrical hookups. Picnic tables. Restrooms and showers. RV dump stations.

 

Gilbert Ray RV Campground - Tucson, Arizona

This Arizona RV campground is known for stargazing in the night skies. It’s an excellent way to wind down spending the day hiking and biking. Gilbert Ray RV Campground is conveniently located on the west side of the Tucson Mountains—13 miles from Tucson—and has 130 RV sites. The backside of the campground opens up onto the desert for a marvelous sunset vista. This RV Campground is a great jumping-off point to explore the nearby Saguaro National Park. Amenities: 30-amp electrical hookups. RV dumping station. Centrally located water and bathrooms.
