Ski Portillo has an all-around chill vibe with short lines and open groomers – they actually limit the number of skiers per day to keep the resort less crowded and more enjoyable. Their ápres-ski scene is top-notch and is paired with some pretty awesome accommodations. This is a must-visit.
Las Leñas – Argentina
While you’re in the area visiting Ski Portillo, you're right along the same Andes mountain range and just north of another epic destination on our list: Las Leñas. Also known as one of the best ski destinations in Latin America because of its practically untouched and exceptional quality of snow, there are over 18,000 acres of mountain-side terrain to shred here. Their ski season goes from June to September with the Marta lift taking you all the way to the very top of the peak – you’ll definitely want to go bar down on this ride up. While their ápres-ski activities are on the limited side, their near-perfect snow quality hands-down makes up for it.
The Remarkables – New Zealand
Switching continents here to head across the Pacific Ocean: The Remarkables ski resort is another true gem of a destination in the Southern Hemisphere. Perfect for anyone, whether you love the groomers or the side and backcountry, this mountain has the ideal terrain for any ski style. The Remarkables sits just 45 minutes up from Queenstown, making this the ultimate destination for a once-in-a-lifetime ski trip.
