5 Awesome Socially Distant Activities Near Fresno

|

While we navigate COVID-19, everyone is looking for ways to connect with friends but still practice good social distancing. That’s why StorQuest came up with its list of five awesome and safe ways to get outdoors and spend time with your crew.

Have a Sweat Sesh

Join friends in the great outdoors for a little adventure and friendly competition. Mountain bike the San Joaquin River Trail or Potter Creek Loop. Go for a hike on the Lewis Creek Trail or a run along Clovis Old Town Trail. The great outdoors has a way of always being there to bring us together, and that’s still true now.

Outdoor Wine Tasting

Sip your way through an afternoon and learn a little something about wine along the way. The Madera Wine Trail offers the opportunity to practice social distancing while getting out, trying something new, and supporting local vineyards.

Plan a BBQ at Woodward Regional Park

At 300 acres, Woodward Regional Park offers plenty of room and attractions to make gathering for a socially distant barbecue epic. Multiple picnic areas and shelters are there for you to snag, but remember to ask your friends to practice keeping 6 feet apart. You’ll still be able to relax, tell stories, and enjoy an outdoor dining experience.

Plan a Party at Shaver Lake

Who doesn’t love a beach party on an alpine lake? Invite your friends, grab a stretch of beach, and bring your water toys. Shaver Lake allows motorized activities like jet skis and non-motorized adventures like canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. All of these activities are perfect for social distancing – they let you participate solo and on your own craft but also as a group on the water. When you need a break, head to shore and gather in a large circle with cold beverages in hand to celebrate your day.

Stay-at-Home Games With Friends

Sometimes the best activities happen in your backyard. Invite friends over for an outside, socially distant game night. Make sure you have enough space to follow best practices in distancing and choose a game or a strategy that doesn’t mean you are sharing items like cards. Options could be charades or even Pictionary. Everyone gets their own pen and paper and only one person is assigned to the cards. They simply show the player what they need to draw without looking at it.

This Is What Awesome Looks Like

We’ll get through this together and when it’s over, we’ll only remember how awesome life really is. In the meantime, StorQuest is here to help out and offer solutions that fit your storage needs.
